England Bring Back Bukayo Saka But Bellingham, Foden & Grealish Miss Out

Bukayo Saka in action

The Arsenal forward has scored a dozen goals in 44 appearances for England.

England have recalled Bukayo Saka for next week's fixtures versus Wales and Latvia, however no room for Jude Bellingham, Foden or Jack Grealish.

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka missed the previous World Cup qualifying wins over Andorra and Serbia due to a muscle problem.

Saka recently returned for his club and scored in their victory against Olympiacos midweek.

Saka replaces club colleague Noni Madueke, who is out of action till next month with a knee injury.

The Three Lions face Wales in a warm-up match at the national stadium this week prior to a qualifying match in Latvia on October 14.

Should England triumph in Latvia, they will require a just two points from their last two matches versus Albania and Serbia in the next month to qualify for next summer's tournament in North America.

Bayer Leverkusen defender Quansah comes in for Newcastle United’s Livramento, who is sidelined for two months after sustaining a knee issue versus Arsenal last weekend.

Elliot Anderson and Spence, who earned their first England call-ups previously, keep their spots. Ruben Loftus-Cheek also keeps his spot, despite the return to fitness of Wharton.

Saka has only played a single match for Tuchel since he became national team boss, due to fitness and hamstring injuries.

Bellingham was absent from the previous squad as he recovered from shoulder surgery and has managed just a single start for his club since returning from injury.

The Manchester City player was left out from Tuchel's previous selection after a loss of form and has been unable to force his way back, even with a impressive beginning to the campaign with Manchester City.

Grealish also misses out in spite of a resurgence on loan at Everton. The 30-year-old has not played for England since October 2024.

'Scrutiny on those left out rather than included'

The manager’s latest England squad draws attention on those the head coach has left out rather than the included names.

Jude Bellingham's omission may raise some eyebrows but the coach believes there is no rush to recall the Madrid midfielder.

City’s Foden and on-loan Everton forward Grealish have both performed well at the start of the season.

Those who the manager used in the team’s World Cup qualifier wins against Serbia and Andorra merit the reward of continuity.

There will be disappointment that Arsenal's Noni Madueke is not involved because of a fitness issue.

Anderson has settled well at international level.

The England boss is a admirer of the attacker, in particular, and also Foden.

One unexpected move, it is the exclusion of Palace’s Wharton.

The star, of course, will be needed further down the line.
